Domestic Support Assistant

Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc. (BWNG) has a casual position available within our Ageing and Disability Services Team in the role of Domestic Support Assistant. In this role you will provide domestic support to frail-aged community members, or people living with disability and their carers, enabling them to live in their homes in a clean, hygienic and homely manner. 

This position works on a flexible and varied roster and involves some weekend work. This position falls under MA000100 – Social and Community Services Award 2010. 

This role offers a foot in the door with one of Gloucester’s largest employers (and the only locally-based Ageing and Disability services provider), as well as benefits such as salary packaging, flexibility and learning and development opportunities. 

• Delivering domestic assistance such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, mopping, washing dishes and emptying bins. 
• Assisting with laundering, ironing and folding of items/garments and other cleaning services as requested.
• Observing and monitoring client wellbeing, and reporting any concerns or significant changes to the Team Leader or Case Manager.
• Providing transport, companionship and support for clients to attend appointments, run errands and participate in leisure activities 

•   An up to date First Aid and CPR certificate.
• The ability to work both independently and within a team.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to follow organisational policies and procedures
• Great people skills, featuring a friendly communication style, and the ability to recognise and respect diversity.
• Willingness to undergo a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
• Current Class C Driver’s licence or higher, and reliable transport
• Compliance with BWNG’s vaccine policy, including proof of Fluvax and triple COVID-19 vaccination
