We're Hiring - Meals on Wheels Cook
Join Our Team
We're seeking a dedicated and organised Meals on Wheels Cook to join our Aged Care and Disability Services team on a part-time basis.
As the Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, fresh meals for our food services program, ensuring members of our community receive the support and nourishment they need to live independently in their home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook fresh meals in line with BWNG’s Food Safety Program and Meals on Wheels Nutritional Guidelines
- Follow standardised recipe cards and daily opening/closing procedures
- Ensure cleanliness and compliance with food safety and WHS standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with team members and volunteers
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery
What You’ll Need:
Essential:
- Experience in food preparation
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
- A National Criminal History Check (conducted in-house as part of the induction process)

Food Collection Volunteer
Volunteer with us
Are you a community-minded person with your own transport, and a spare hour each day, Monday to Friday?
We are seeking a volunteer to collect donated food items from local businesses each workday, and deliver them to the Community Pantry at BWNG If you haven’t volunteered before, this is a great way to dip your toe into the rewarding experience of volunteering.
It is also a great opportunity for anyone seeking voluntary work to meet Centrelink's mutual obligation requirements.
Please note, this role is subject to a Police Check and Working With Children Check.
