The CHSP provides entry level care if you are managing on your own but just need a little bit of help, or help for a short period of time whilst waiting for other funding to become available.
A HCP provides access to a wider range of services, more freedom to choose what services you spend your funds on, and the reassurance that once your package is allocated it stays in place.

My Aged Care provides:
The first step to accessing government-funded aged care is to arrange an assessment through My Aged Care by calling 1800 200 422 or registering online.
A trained Assessor will conduct to face assessment with you in your home, to talk about your needs and circumstances. The assessor will tell you what services you are eligible for, or explain to you why you are not eligible.
If you are approved to receive services through My Aged Care, there are two ways that you can connect with BWNG to organise your services:

Registering for your assessment online is easy, and takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
You can complete this application yourself or on behalf of a friend or family member.

Our dedicated Community Connectors are your main point of contact for any changes or questions. They liaise with you to book appointments and organise your services. They also perform reviews of your care, to ensure your needs are being met as your situation changes, and can answer any questions you or your loved ones may have around your care.
B.W.N.G's Community and Aged Care Services Officer coordinates our transport programmes, organises participating volunteers, and liaises with partnering organisations such as Cancer Council NSW and Hunter New England Health.
Our Meals on Wheels Coordinator in a nutshell, ensures the smooth operation of Gloucester's only Meals on Wheels service. The Meals on Wheels Coordinator creates the monthly menu, talks to you about your order (and changes to orders), and communicates with the cooks and volunteers who prepare and deliver your fresh hot meals.
If a person receives approval for their care to be funded through a Home Care Package (rather than CHSP), and has registered as a client with B.W.N.G, our dedicated Home Care Package Officer will oversee the provision of their services, acting as a bridge between the client or their loved ones, and the government bodies responsible for the funding of their care. As a person's needs may change over time, our Home Care Package Officer will also conduct scheduled reviews, and help structure your package to help you get the best value from your funding and ensure your services suit your needs
Our team of Support Workers and Aged Care Administrative Staff are coordinated by B.W.N.G's Ageing and Disability Team Leader, who liaises with external agencies and organisations, and navigates the Government programmes that allow us to provide the services our community relies upon.
